Why Assessment Tests

What is the value of assessment tests? This paper weighs the pros and cons of assessment tests. Some teachers frown on the assessment tests and use other methods. Some teachers do not like the current achievement tests and have designed other methods of testing. The Curriculum-based assessment (CBA) is designed to test whether specific instructional objectives have been accomplished and to monitor achievement directly from the curriculum (Malatesha 365). The purpose is to measure higher-level reader abilities by using classroom projects and student's accomplishments.
